At R&J Stables, our mission goes beyond providing horseback riding facilities. We strive to create a safe and welcoming environment where individuals of all ages can find connection and joy. Our ultimate goal is to honour the memory of Samantha Bensky by offering programs that support those battling depression, anxiety, and focus and behaviour challenges.
Sami's Place is the heart of R&J Stables, named in honour of Samantha Bensky, a beloved friend's daughter who tragically lost her battle with depression at a young age. Sami loved cheerleading, art, and horses and visited us before we moved to the Kawartha Lakes. This photo to the right is Sami riding Oakley! All the programs we run at R&J Stables are in honour of Sami.
Hi. my name is Heather Matile and it has always been my dream to bring together two of my biggest passions: teaching and working with animals. My husband and I and our four children took a leap of faith in 2016 to move from Richmond Hill to this beautiful property in Woodville, Ontario. I was fortunate to continue my teaching career locally at Lady Mackenzie and Langton Public Schools. With the support of this incredible community, we have built some fantastic programs with more on the horizon now that I have retired! If you are new to riding, a returning rider or someone trying to recover from a bad riding experience, everyone is welcome here. Pictured here is one of my longest standing riders, Blake!
